Athirapilly Waterfalls

Athirappilly is Kerala’s largest waterfall and is known as the “Niagara of India”. The majestic Athirappilly waterfall in Kerala is
80 feet high and 330 feet wide. It has long been a favorite among travelers. This waterfall is a visual treat, especially during the monsoon season, and one of the best places to capture a true sense of magnificent beauty.

A majestic view of the falls is open if you take the rock-laid path on the right that leads to the bottom of the falls. You can also sit on the rocks and gaze out at the falls. However, the descent and ascent for the same may not be to everyone’s taste.

After the famous South Indian movie “Bahubali” release which was shot here, people nicknamed this Athirappilly waterfall as “Bahubali Waterfalls”

The falls are reached after a 300m walk from the entry point. There are sections of the river where the flow is low and there are small waterfalls marked by ropes. If you’re carrying clothes to change, you can take a dip. There are separate restrooms for men and women and additional dressing facilities for women who want to swim or relax in the water.

Vazhachal Waterfalls

Vazhachal waterfalls is only 5 kilometers from Athirappilly. You can use the same ticket to enter both locations. It is not as high as Athirappilly, but it is more spread out and less crowded.

We can’t get close to the waterfall because of the high-water flow. With fences and walkways, the visitor area is well-organized. It’s a very peaceful area. There is a play area for kids and seating facilities for visitors

If you seek solitude and peace in unspoiled nature then go to Vazhachal Falls, which has fewer people, is easily accessible, and has long trails along the river. Vazhachal Waterfalls gives a relaxing feeling similar to meditation. You will undoubtedly enjoy this location.

Lakkam Waterfalls is one of the famous waterfalls in Munnar. Lakkam Waterfalls are located 7,300 feet above the sea level

It is a comparatively small waterfall (50 feet). It is on the way to Marayoor from Munnar.  During the monsoon, even the stream creates a lot of cascades, making the surroundings a visual treat for tourists.
